Just when us Canadians have had enough of winter! Join us for a day of dancing, learning, sharing and/or watching Polynesian dance!
On February 25, 2017 we will be hosting our first Hula on the Prairies Ho’ike! There will be dance workshops, an Aloha Market and a Ho’ike (show) complete with Polynesian pupu (appetizers) by Cornerstone BBQ and Spice.

Want to come and watch dances of the Pacific and enjoy some Polynesian appetizers? Tickets are on sale though Eventbrite or from a member of A Hawaiian Holiday. Early bird tickets are on sale until February 10, 2017.
A hula and a Tahitian workshop will be taught by Vancouver’s Kumu/Ra`atira Paul Tavai Latta, one of the most sought after educators of Polynesian and Pacific Rim studies, specializing in indigenous traditional and contemporary Polynesian dance, music, costume, art, history and performance. He is a recognized educator on Maohi (Polynesian) culture.
- Tahitian workshop – 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Aloha Market (and lunch for full workshop participants) 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Hula workshop – 1 p.m to 2:30 p.m.
Location: Glengarry Community Hall, Edmonton AB
Cost: $65* for both workshop (includes plate lunch by Cornerstone BBQ and Spice) or $30 for one workshop.
Workshop participants will have the opportunity to perform the dances they learned at the Ho’ike that night.
